Former US President Bill Clinton to speak at "Global Thinkers Series" Presented by American Express and the Economic Club of Toronto

MARKHAM, ON, March 25 /CNW/ - Former US President Bill Clinton will be
the next featured speaker in the Global Thinkers Series, presented by
American Express and the Economic Club of Toronto.
President Clinton will speak at the lunch event in Toronto on Friday,
April 25.
"We are delighted to bring world-class thought leaders like President
Clinton to Toronto to spark important discussion and debate on the major
issues that impact Canadians and the international community", comments

President Clinton will describe the challenges of globalization and the
growing economic interdependence of nations, as well as the responsibilities
and opportunities faced by governments and corporations in dealing with global
issues like economic and environmental sustainability.

initiative," says Mark Adler, President and CEO of the Economic Club of
Toronto. "President Clinton is a powerful voice for progress around the world
and we are looking forward to hearing his unique insights and observations."
Advanced tickets are available exclusively to American Express
Cardmembers from Wednesday, March 26th to Friday, March 28th.
The Clinton event is part of the Global Thinkers Series, which came about
after the enormous response to California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger's
appearance at the Economic Club last year. The 2008 Global Thinkers Series
will feature at least six events presented by Amex and the Economic Club.
Prime Minister Stephen Harper spoke last month on the Government's economic
record.
The series rounds out Amex's ongoing program of events that give its
Cardmembers unique access to music, theatre, sports and dining activities
promoted through its popular Front Of The Line program.
