American Express Canada kicks-off Kensington Village program in support of the Salvation Army Agapé Hospice
CALGARY, July 19 /CNW/ - American Express Canada is proud to join participating merchants in the Kensington Village area to support the Agapé Hospice. When American Express Cardmembers use their cards at participating Kensington Village locations between July 22 and August 31, 2007, American Express will donate 10 per cent of the total purchase charged to the Card to the Agapé Hospice, up to a maximum donation of $75,000. The program kicks-off at the Kensington Sun and Salsa Festival, on July 22, sponsored by American Express. "Being an active member of the community is important to American Express," said Tracey Szczur, Director, Establishment Services Marketing, American Express Canada. "We are thrilled to offer this exciting program in Kensington Village and help bring business to local merchants while supporting a worthy cause." This campaign provides American Express Cardmembers with an excellent opportunity to give back to the local community. Monies raised through the Kensington Village program will provide much needed support to enable Agapé Hospice to continue to offer quality care for the terminally ill residents it serves. "The proceeds of this program will enable Agapé to better respond to the critical need for services created by the demands of our ever-growing community," said Captain Penny Lang, Agapé Hospice Executive Director. "We are most grateful for the support of the American Express Cardmembers and Merchants". Kensington Village is one of the prime shopping areas in Calgary, and over 50 American Express merchants will be participating in this initiative.
