The National Quality Institute recognizes American Express Canada for world class organizational excellence

    TORONTO, Sept. 9 /CNW/ - American Express Canada has received the 2008
Canada Awards for Excellence Order of Excellence Trophy for Quality and
Healthy Workplace®. This award is the highest level of recognition presented
annually by the National Quality Institute, and recognizes world class
organizational excellence in quality, customer service, and a healthy
workplace.
    "The award recipients represent outstanding role models of leadership,
planning, customer focus, people engagement, process management and partner
focus," said Allan Ebedes, President and CEO of the National Quality
Institute. "American Express embodies our criteria, and demonstrates world
class sophistication in both managing and integrating these elements, making a
positive impact on the growth of the Canadian economy."
    Amex Canada won the NQI Order of Excellence Awards in Quality in 1998 and
Healthy Workplace in 2001, and is now the first company to win the combined
award of excellence for both Quality and Healthy Workplace.
    Amex Canada has emerged as one of the most dynamic markets for American
Express. This 2008 win marks the organization's ability to sustain its focus
on excellence and quality, while fully engaging employees in their goals and
vision and thriving on a path of record growth and milestone successes.

    American Express will receive the award at the 2008 Canada Awards for
Excellence Gala Dinner in Toronto on Monday, October 20th at the Metro Toronto
Convention Centre.
