SAIT to Benefit from American Express Dine and Shop Program
--American Express Cardmembers Can Help Raise up to $50,000 for the SAIT
Polytechnic--MARKHAM, ON, Sept. 17 /CNW/ - As presenting sponsor of the Calgary
International Film Festival, American Express has launched a cause-related
marketing campaign to help raise money for the film studies program at the
SAIT Polytechnic. Funds raised through the campaign will go towards nurturing
new talent in the film industry.
From September 15 until November 15, 2008, American Express will donate
five per cent of purchases charged to American Express Cards at participating
Calgary merchants, up to a total maximum donation of $50,000, to the SAIT Film
& Video Production program.
"This donation program is a great fit with our commitment to arts and
culture and our sponsorship of the Calgary International Film Festival," said
Tracey Evans, Director of Merchant Services Marketing, American Express. "When
Cardmembers use their Card at participating retailers, they are contributing
to the future of the film industry in Calgary."
Dick Bourne, Academic Chair for SAIT's Film and Video Production program,
is excited about SAIT's partnership with American Express: "We are grateful to
American Express for their support of the Film and Video Production program.
Their generosity will help us develop a new generation of filmmakers with High
Definition video skills."
The SAIT Film & Video Production program plays a critical role in
Alberta's fast growing presence in the film and television industries. Through
hands-on comprehensive education, the SAIT Film & Video Production program
graduates will in turn be able to contribute to the imaginative and skilled
consortium of talent required for the expanding film industry.
American Express Cardmembers can use their Cards at over 100
participating merchants in the Calgary area. For a full list of participating
retailers and restaurants or for more details on the campaign, visit
