Rewards Canada reveals the best credit cards for Canadian travel enthusiasts
MARKHAM, ON, March 27, 2014 /CNW/ - American Express Canada has come out on top again in Reward Canada's sixth annual ranking of the Top Travel Rewards Credit Cards in Canada. Three American Express Cards were chosen as top Cards in three out of the five categories that are ranked annually, and a total of six Amex Cards were recommended overall.

The rankings by Rewards Canada looks at over 80 different credit cards offering travel rewards for Canadians and evaluates various factors including cost of ownership, rate of return, the associated loyalty program (co-brand), ease of redemption, Card acceptance, partnerships, issuing bank and benefits. The Cards are ranked in five main categories: Top Travel Points Credit Card (with no annual fee), Top Travel Points Credit Card (with annual fee), Top Hybrid Credit/Charge Card (with annual fee), Top Airline Credit/Charge Card, Top Hotel Credit Card.
The following American Express Cards were ranked as the number one Card in their category:
- American Express Blue Sky Credit Card as Top Travel Points Credit Card (with no annual fee)
- American Express Gold Rewards Card as Top Hybrid Travel Credit/Charge Card (with annual fee)
- Starwood Preferred Guest Credit Card from American Express as Top Hotel Credit Card
As well, the American Express Air Miles Credit Card ranked third in the Top Travel Points Credit Card (with annual fee), the Platinum Card from American Express ranked third in the Top Hybrid Travel Credit/Charge Card (with annual fee), and the AeroplanPlus Platinum Charge Card ranked fifth in the Top Airline Credit/Charge Card category.
